Reader Mail:
Photo exploration:
Babya (babya_puzzler@hotmail.com) writes,
"I have generally been impressed with Babya Photo Workshop's file viewer, but I noticed it doesn't have a 3D style view like Google Picasa or 3D Photo Browser does. Is there a Babya application which offers that currently or will in the future?"
A.A. Fussy replies:
Thanks for your intruiging email, Babya. We don't currently have such a feature in Babya Photo Workshop at the moment but we asked our product manager for digital media Alvin Novick and he has some exciting information about Babya 3D Photo Explorer-a upcoming Babya application , that might interest you:
Hi, Babya,
I read your email about Babya Photo Workshop and its lack of a 3D photo viewer.
Well, as you might of heard on our Livejournal (http://babyasoftwaregr.livejournal.com/17552.html), we are currently developing Babya 3D Photo Explorer (formerly Babya PhotoRoll-as announced last year).
Some of its features are:
  • Mac OS X style grow/shrink effect when viewing a photo
  • Multiple photos are displayed in a amazing layered style
  • Supports viewing of BMP, JPG and GIF files (maintains EXIF data when viewing JPG pictures)
  • Fast 3D engine ensures that you can quickly view your photos
  • Smooth and easy re-arranging of photos in the viewer

Babya 3D Photo Explorer will be released in the next 2-3 months, as part of Babya Photo Workshop Professional X1 (v11.0) or as a separate download.

Babya iGrab:

Last month, Babya's first iPod utility, Babya iGrab was released as a free download.

Babya iGrab is a easy to use way to grab iPod music, without having to manually do it. This utility will let you rip either a single song, or the entire music collection of the iPod.

Babya iGrab will not hurt your iPod in anyway, nor modify its database files or music.

Babya iGrab has some limits also: it can only read MP3 encoded music, all other music will not be shown on the list (eg. music purchased from the iTunes Music Store. It can only grab either one song, or the entire collection, not inbetween.

Babya iGrab will work with most iPods -including the latest fifth generation iPod and iPod nano.
