Notably, the November 6 event will see multiple updates to various Babya applications-some we expect to be announced or released, are below:-

• Babya bSuite: version 2 expected to be announced , includes updated version of Babya E-Type with Babya PDF Converter built-in .
• Babya Discoverer: New version expected to be announced-Discoverer RSS 12 with built in firewall.
• Babya Presenter: Version 3.0 to be announced, Pro version to be introduced along with updated version of Babya Presenter

While the announcement of Babya Photo Workshop 10.5 & Babya Photo Workshop XL 11.5 are expected at the event, we've received word that Babya Presenter 3.0, plus Babya Presenter Pro 3.0 with support for audio & images slideshow (previously rumored) will also be announced.

Basically it's going to a page layout application featuring a intergrated Babya Photo Workshop (a cut-down version-no support for custom color palettes ).

The intergrated Babya Photo Workshop has several new features, according to Alvin:

• Can open and roundtrip files (eg. you could open a image in Publisher, edit it there and import that in to Photo Workshop) from Babya Photo Workshop Professional and Babya Photo Workshop Professional XL.

In this week's reader mail & rumor report-we report on rumors about new versions of Babya Photo Workshop and Babya Photo Workshop XL and a media event for Babya graphics applications in November.

Babya Photo Workshop & Babya Photo Workshop XL:

According to the official Babya blog (,http://www.livejournal.com/users/babyasoftwaregr) Babya Photo Workshop and Babya Photo Workshop XL will be updated in November, and at the January Babya Expo :

A new version of Babya Photo Workshop-version 10.5 is expected be released in November with a new image masking feature.

Babya Photo Workshop XL will receive a major upgrade-to version 11.0 at the Babya Expo in early January.

I'd also like to let you know that Babya Album 2 is now included.

New Babya software next month?:

Below are some more tips for using Babya Logic.

Organise Babya Logic files easily:

You can create a projects folder to save Babya Logic files into, in .mia format.

Also, create a shortcut to each file and put that on your desktop, Quick Launch or dock for quick access (make sure you create a file type association for .mia first).

Quickly record audio samples:

Babya Logic includes Babya SampleStudio to easily record new audio samples.

Open Babya SampleStudio, and go to File-Record new sample. When the record window appears, press 'Record' to start recording.

When finshed, press 'Stop' and then 'Finish'
.
You can then go to File-Save Sample Bank, to save the recording into a .bnk file.

Finally, you can open the sample bank file later, by going to File-Load Sample Bank.

You can place .bnk files from Babya SampleStudio into a 'Audio samples' folder.

Reader Mail & Rumor Report-September 3, 2005

In today's reader maIl & rumor report, we begin a 3 part report on Babya Logic. This week we share some useful tips.


Here's some handy tips if you use Babya Logic or Apple Logic:

Export Babya Logic songs for further editing in other software:

If you export MIDI files created with Babya Logic, you can easilyimport and edit the MIDI files on the Mac with Apple Logic or withMAGIX MIDI Studio and other music production suitws (eg. Cubase,Traktion, Abelton,Ntrack).

First save your Babya Logic project (File-Save, Ctrl+S) and next go to File-Export MIDI File

Open Logic and go to-File-Import and to export back to MIDI, select a area of music (Edit-Select All), then go to File-Export Selection as MIDI File to export back to a MIDI file.

Babya Logic exports to a standard MIDI file format (*.mid)

Easy synth access:

You can easily access any of the included Babya synths in Logic bygoing to the Extras menu-Synths and then select a synth to open (eg.try running EXM via this way).

This is super-fast and time saving-no need to open a mixer to assignand access a synth, unlike other music production software requires you to do.


Make sure the synths are installed in the main Babya Logic folder (the installer does this for you- alternatively, the synths can be runoutside Babya Logic, in a different folder or drive) before running each synth via this method.


Set multiple Tempos on any track:

This feature is very nifty-you can set more than 1 tempo on any selected area and on multiple audio tracks

Babya Logic lets you set multiple tempos (on different tracks too) easily as well-by using its selection tools and tempo control.

In today's reader mail & rumor report we note the release of Logic & Logic Pro.


Logic & Logic Pro:
Logic & Logic Pro have both been released.

A description:
Babya Logic 2006 is an innovative and powerful suite of pro-quality audio production software suite, which includes Babya Logic, a 8-track MIDI sequencer -that enables users to create and score their own music using a variety of pro-quality applications and also includes Babya Jam Pack: Studio Tools, Babya MicroKit and UltraSynth.

Babya Logic 2006 is suitable for composing, scoring and producing music and soundtracks.


Babya Logic is comprised of the following applications:

Babya Logic: A 8-track MIDI sequencer Draw ModeThis mode allows you to place and erase notes. To place a note, move the cursor to where you’d like the note to start and press and hold the left mouse button. Then drag the cursor to the right to the desired note length (each column represents 1/16 note). Once you release the mouse button the note will be placed. To erase a note, move the cursor to the column where your note is and click the right mouse button. To see what instrument a note is, move the cursor to the column where the note is. The instrument number and name will be displayed above the music area on the left side.
Start / Insert Position Mode
Clicking on the music area in this mode places the red column. This determines what part the song will start playing from when you press the play button. Also this is the position where notes will be added or erased when you use the Paste and Insert Space functions. You can also place the red column by clicking on the black bar above the music area while in any mode.
Select Area Mode
This mode allows you to isolate a specific area for editing. The selected area will be highlighted in blue. Click with the left mouse button and drag to the right to select an area. After an area is selected you can extend it by clicking to the right of the selected area. If you click to the left of the selected area, you will deselect the previously selected area and start a new selection. Clicking anywhere in the music area with the right button while in this mode will deselect everything.
Copy Selection
If there is an area currently selected (highlighted in blue), this function will copy that area into memory.
Cut Selection
This will cut out the selected area and copy it into memory.
Paste (Overwrite)
This function will paste from memory to the music area starting at the red column’s position and overwrite the notes that were there previously.
Paste (Insert)
This will insert a space the size of the area to be pasted before pasting it and will not overwrite any notes.
Insert Space
You can insert one blank column at the red column’s position with this button.
Return to Start
This returns the red column and the screen’s position to the beginning of the song.
Play
This plays the song starting from the red column. The song automatically stops when it reaches the last note.
Stop
Click this button to stop the song while it is playing.
Tempo
This sets the tempo, or beats per minute, that the song is played at. For example, the default of 120 plays 120 quarter notes per minute, or 2 quarter notes per second. The range for Tempo is 20-300.
Instruments
Select from 128 melodic instruments (0-127) and 47 percussive instruments (128-174). Selecting an instrument will change the current instrument for the currently selected track. Next time a note is placed it will be in the newly chosen instrument. If there is a selected area (blue highlight), all notes in that area on the current track will be changed to the new instrument. Percussive instruments (128 – 174) do not change tone so it doesn’t matter what row you place them on.
Edit Track
Use these buttons to select which track you want to edit. You can only place notes on one track at a time. The notes of the currently selected track will be in front of all other notes and appear darker. All other tracks will be dimmed. You cannot edit a track that is hidden.
Hide Tracks
Use these buttons to hide up to seven tracks. When a track is hidden it will not be visible on the screen and cannot be altered in any way. This is useful if you, for example, want to copy the baseline of a song but not the melody. You can temporarily hide all tracks but the baseline, copy and paste it, then unhide all tracks. You cannot hide the track that is currently selected for editing.
Transpose
If you’d like your song to be in a higher or lower key, use the Transpose function. Clicking once will raise or lower every note one semitone. If you have an area selected in blue only those notes will be affected.
Use Alpha Blending
When this option is selected the red, blue and green highlighting bars will be semi-transparent rather than a crisscrossing pattern. This takes more processing time and also may not work on some computers.
Reverse Notes
This reverses the song so that it is backwards compared to the original. If an area is selected in blue, only that part will be reversed.

Flip Notes
This basically flips your song upside down. The notes are still the same distance apart from each other vertically so they harmonize with each other, but the high notes are now low and the low notes are high. If an area is selected in blue, only those notes will be flipped.

Although rumored for a April release, a new version of Babya bSecure has not appeared-sources indixate it will now be released in either early November or Decembers, or perhaps early in 2006.

Babya Photo Center:

Babya Photo Center is a all in one photo editing software designed for quick editing of photos. Also it can be used with Babya Photo Workshop or separately.

With Babya Photo Center you can:
-adjust contrast/saturation and brightness
- change RGB levels in images
-easily apply effects to images

Babya File Browser:
Also in development is Babya File Browser-a central way to preview images before editing in Babya imaging application.

The Babya bSuite product team provided the following details about Babya File Browser at their blog which you can visit at:

The next versions of the Babya imaging applications (Babya Photo Workshop, Effects FX, Babya Album) will include Babya File Browser-a central file browser-a central way to view images before editing.
Babya File Browser is currently codenamed 'Prospect'.

If you have used other file browsers such as the File Browser/Adobe Bridge found in Adobe Creative Suite, it would then be easy to learn Babya File Browser as basically the UI shares common elements in both applications.

It's unclear when Babya File Browser will be released-perhaps with Babya Photo Workshop Professional 10-currently it is rumored to be released by the end of September.

Babya desktop search software:
Just as we go to publish today's report, only 30 minutes ago-Babya bDesktop Toolbar was intrdouced.

You might wonder what the slogan means-A.A. Fussy explains below, what the Babya bDesktop Toolbar's slogan "Life is random" means:

"Life is random represents the unpredictably of what search results you get when you use Babya bDesktop Toolbar because you you can search in various categories and different search engines and you never know what the results might turn up.

Although the Babya desktop search software has not been announced yet, but it could be announced in the next 2-3 days.
